The Chosun Ilbo’s dishing out the hot takes on what you should eat when you enjoy your favorite drink and not even makgeolli is safe. Sources? No. Scientific evidence? Who cares! Pie chart, trending data, or graph of any kind? No need!
According to The Chosun Ilbo article, makgeolli should never be paired with it’s typical snacking counterpart jeon as it’s too oily and does not help with lessening the effects of alcohol. By the way, if you’re unfamiliar with jeon, think crab cake but bigger and with an interchangeable mix of meat, seafood, and/or vegetables. Instead, “experts” suggest eating tofu or steamed meat while you enjoy your favorite mak.
